A flame so hot touched my town,
It roared and laughed and brought us down.
The flames so tall and traveled so fast,
Took homes and nature, it left us aghast.
This town of mine watched in fear,
We did not know, it was so unclear.
A short time went by and we grew so close,
We came in faith, we did not boast.
We will rise above these ashes and dust,
And find the gift that He will entrust.

346 homes burned, 10% contained, 18,500 acres today I had lunch at at a local restaurant while I was sitting there I noticed an older couple both on their I-phones occasionally the older gentleman would get up go outside look up at the foothills shake his head come back in and sit back down and sigh. He did this several times, after I finished I went over and asked if they where evacuated by the fire and the wife just started to cry… I asked if they had a safe place to stay they said yes. I asked if they needed anything and they simply said prayer so I stopped and prayed for them gave them my name and phone number and told them that if they need a home cooked meal and a quiet place they should call our home is their home… We all sat and cried together…

Lopsided markets, failing economics and twisted business principles can’t kill the entrepreneurial spirit. Colorado entrepreneurs have long found their basic knowledge and willingness to work hard, to be beneficial in the process building businesses and growing companies. Creating jobs in Colorado requires the development of businesses.

The mystery key to starting a new business and managing to be successful is flexibility. Creating a new business with the open ended opportunity to ultimately BE whatever it takes to be successful would be an amazing concept to adopt as an entrepreneur.

Since the ultimate goal of any business is to make a profit, creating a business with enough flexibility in the design to result in profit is a good thing. Often, those capable of the most flexibility are literally the ones who develop successful businesses.

A business might start under the auspices of being an ice cream parlor for the elite and become a coffee shop and tech stop for the masses. A store might open its doors with the concept of marketing a business service and end up selling massive options in technology. The variations are unlimited, but the obvious opportunity to be flexible is not.

The essential business development isn’t apparent from the outside, for instance, a copywriting office that shifted gears and became a web developer, hiring techies instead of writers. Being flexible enough to serve the market and fill a given niche instead of worrying or being concerned about the description of the business stamped on the articles of incorporation is the best option.

Innovation plays strong in that corner as well. If an entrepreneur finds a particular industry lacking in support and product or services, filling that niche should be his primary effort. Can you think of a project that’s never been done before? That’s the best deal. No template. No planned design and no approach that will definitely make it work, just the process of creating a service and stepping up to the actuation of the program with innovative ideas.

Be tactical. Design your plan first. How will you get the necessary partners on board? Don’t waste your time seeking vendors and developers who want a secret signed contract. Go for the gold. Put your team in place and then, only then can you pull in product and set up marketing presentations.

Are you still wasting your time trying to meet partners at meetings, trade shows and business development mind dumps? Stop. There’s a better way.

Bog your expertise. Speak at conferences. Be the PAID speaker. Be the PAID representative of a new concept. This process works, right here in Colorado.

Your most amazing partnership will come from the least expected location. Get ready now to meet that person, make that connection and build that business.

Are you looking for a coach who can help you meet the right people? Someone who knows how to move traffic, drive business and grow profits?

Windmills make some of us feel good, for better or worse. Turbine supporters consider wind a “green” source of electricity that is renewable, sustainable and less damaging to the environment than fossil fuels.

Those considerations are up for debate. Windmill farms substantially alter the landscape. Giant turbine blades, which weigh up to 12 tons each, are notorious for attracting birds and pulverizing them. The Caithness Windfarm Information Forum, a Scottish organization that encourages renewable energy, found that windmills have caused 35 human fatalities in the United States since 1970. Nuclear power plants, which generate far more electricity, caused zero fatalities on American soil during the 40-year study window. The Department of Energy’s Information Administration estimates that electricity from wind costs 100 percent more than from natural gas, if we include costs of capital, operation and fuel involved in the manufacture, transportation, installation and climate control associated with turbines. Those costs, in other words, largely involve conventional fuels these windmills are supposed to replace.

With all the jobs needed across the country, locating jobs for veterans is even more important as veterans are brought home from the Middle East. Our Veterans deserve jobs!

WalMart Foundation Grants Connect Veterans to Green Jobs -

Thanks to WalMart –

The grant was announced during a “Hiring our Heroes” veterans job fair in Belleville, Illinois, one of 100 job fairs Walmart has sponsored through the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. According to the latest data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the unemployment rate for recently returned veterans is 12 percent.

These WalMart Foundation Grant green jobs will be ready and waiting for veterans who will soon return, dropping the unemployment rates and statistics for returning veterans.

“The idea that our nation’s heroes are being forced to transition from the frontlines to the unemployment line is one of the worst realities we can imagine,” said retired U.S. Army Brigadier General Gary Profit, senior director of military programs at Walmart. “Through Walmart’s support of Veterans Green Jobs, our partnership with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and other outreach, we’re doing our part to ensure our veterans have the support they need and the career opportunities they deserve.” Read More…

Veterans who are forced to return home to no jobs are more likely to have issues with the problems they faced while serving our country, more challenged to reenter society and less likely to perform well on re-entry. It is our duty to support and encourage those coming home from serving our country, assisting their ability to reconnect to family, friends and jobs they will love.

Walmart Foundation Grant to Help Connect 1,000 Veterans to Green Job Opportunities -

The Walmart Foundation today announced a two-year $750,000 grant to Veterans Green Jobs. With this funding, Veterans Green Jobs will connect with 1,000 veterans through its training and employment initiatives and place many of those veterans into full-time green sector jobs. This is the latest commitment under the Walmart Foundation’s recently announced five-year, $20 million giving initiative aimed at combating the high veteran unemployment rate.

Support the WalMart Foundation Grant this season with relative buying habits.
